Stein Riesling 2020/2023
A terroir driven Riesling which balances opulence and minerality with ease. Made from vines that Jean-Pierre planted with his father 30 years ago, the Leu dit Stein is grown on grey marl and limestone.
A blend of two different vintages. Two-thirds 2020 juice aged in old barrel for 3 years, and one-third of 2023 aged in barrel for 8 months. The resulting wine offers deep complexity which evolves dynamically once opened.
Pouring with a beautiful oxidative shading, this Riesling is rounded and offers a perfect balance of salinity, citrus and concentrated golden fruit all wrapped up with a chiselled minerality and a freshness that persists until the end. Tasting great now, we imagine this will only get better with time.
