Guanciabianca 2024

Guanciabianca 2024

Fabio's entry-point Catarratto that blends grapes from both his sandy coastal vines and those from the valley, further inland. The 2024 shows a lovely sandy gold in the glass from a brief skin maceration, and lends a little tannic grip - this year we are more in orange wine territory than previous vintages. Mediterranean pantry herbs, almond and apricot stone fruits cut through with a long beam of acidity and dry spices in the finish. A wine that speaks so clearly of the ocean breeze and rolling hills of western Sicily.

The grapes were harvested in late September, the favourable vintage giving good ripeness and lots of colour to the skins. Grapes were de-stemmed and after just 3 days the wine is pressed into steel to rest for 8 months before bottling with no additions.
