Q Blanc 2021
La Vrille's entry white, made from younger vines of Ugni Blanc, that lesser-sung French sibling of Trebbiano. Much the same as that Italian grape, it offers yellow fruits with something a little saline and mineral. There is also a lovely oily citrus quality and the softness of ripe pears that ensures a bottle of this wine doesn't hang around for long.Â
The grapes are direct-pressed in whole bunches and left on the fine lees in cuve for 8 months before bottling with no additions. Despite the modest price, this is actually one of their smallest production cuvées - only 700 bottles were made this vintage.
