Another delightful new experimental La Vrille cuvée that is sure to pique the interest of those who fell for the bright, juicy charms of Canon d'Achille. Similarly, this is a fluid, weightless red that ripples with pure fruit and works best served from the ice bucket. A blend of Grenache and Syrah, it is big on the red fruits - fresh cherries as well as that soapy, confected quality of sweet shop cherry lips. As the flora-referencing name suggests, there is a lift of violet perfume as its shy aromatics open up.

Made in the infusion style, where de-stemmed berries of Grenache are dropped into the juice of directly-pressed Syrah to ferment, burst and steep over the course of a few days, before pressing off to rest in fibreglass vats for 7 months. The structure of the wine is dialed right back, making for lip-smacking easy drinking. A fantastic chillable red that delivers so much at the price, and opens well to pour over a couple of days too.
