Cerreto 2024
A hazy, pale gold wine with discreet tannins and lifted aromas of yellow citrus and salty grapefruit pith. An earthy smokiness and tense, cleansing acids gives a thoroughly volcanic feel. Tart white peach and zesty citrus pith fruits hover in the airy palate of this delicate, weightless wine.Â
'Cerreto' is the local name for Malvasia di Candia, here given a 9-day skin fermentation in open-topped tanks, before being pressed off to steel to rest before bottling in the spring with no additions. The most high-altitude of all Antonio's wines, the vines are planted over rocky limestone and clay at 700m, above a volcanic bedrock.
